Born Stephen Douglas McMichael on the 17th October 1957 in Houston, Texas USA, Steve is a retired sportsman who played American Football as a defensive tackle from 1980 to 1994 for the New England Patriots (1980), Chicago Bears (1981-1993), and Green Bay Packers (1994), after which he started his professional wrestling career, first in the WWF, and then in WCW. He also wrestled in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

However, he spent only one season as a Patriot, and was then acquired by the Chicago Bears. Steve stayed with the Bears until 1993, helping them win the Super Bowl in 1985, and in the two following seasons, he earned Pro Bowl selections. After the Bears, Steve signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers, but after only one season with the Packers, he retired from professional football.

In 2012, McMichael ran for mayor of Romeoville, Illinois, but lost to John Noak, the ncumbent, while gaining just 39 percent of the vote.
